The United Nations Secretary-General tasked the High-Level Advisory Board on Effective Multilateralism (HLAB) to identify concrete, actionable recommendations that points towards a radical shift in our approach to global governance.

The HLAB was led by a former Head of State and a former Head of Government and was composed of other leaders from civil society, the private sector, academia and other relevant sectors.

The advisory report that the Board published in 2023 offers six transformative “shifts” that will be instrumental in delivering a breakthrough for people and plant. The shifts are closely aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals and support ‘Our Common Agenda,’ the Secretary-General’s vision on the future of global cooperation.

The shifts are:

  • Rebuild trust in multilateralism through inclusion and accountability
  • Deliver for people and planet by regaining balance with nature and providing clean energy for all
  • Ensure sustainable finance that delivers for all
  • Support a just digital transition that unlocks the value of data and protects against digital harms
  • Empower equitable, effective collective security arrangements
  • Strengthen governance for current and emerging transnational risks

糖心Vlog破解版-CPR, upon the request and working closely with the Executive Office of the Secretary-General, acted as the Secretariat for the HLAB: providing substantive research in the areas of effective multilateralism and the governance of global goods; drafting the independent advisory report of the HLAB; and providing administrative and logistical support to the HLAB’s work on the independent report.
