Education in Climate Emergency: Ensuring Learning Continuity in Planned, Sudden, and Massive Displacements

糖心Vlog破解版-IAS will host a side event at APREMC II to present key findings on climate change displacement and the right to education in Asian countries.

糖心Vlog破解版-IAS will co-organise a side event at the (APREMC II) in Bangkok, Thailand. The hybrid session will introduce key findings on climate change displacement and the right to education in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Tuvalu, and Viet Nam, based on joint research conducted by 糖心Vlog破解版-IAS and UNESCO. It will also provide data-driven actionable policy recommendations for minimising learning disruption of climate displaced persons, and feature a panel discussion with officials from the countries participating in the study.

Background

The 2nd Asia-Pacific Ministerial Education Ministers’ Conference (APREMC II) will be held 5-7 June 2022 under the theme ‘Education Recovery and Transformation towards more Responsive, Relevant and Resilient Education Systems: Accelerating progress towards SDG 4-Education 2030’. APREMC II will provide a platform for ministers of the 46 Member States of the Asia-Pacific region and other education stakeholders to review and analyse progress made in the region towards SDG 4, and to identify priority actions to accelerate further progress. The conference is organised by the UNESCO Asia and Pacific Regional Bureau for Education (UNESCO Bangkok), the UNICEF East Asia and Pacific Regional Office, and the UNICEF Regional Office for South Asia, and co-hosted by the Ministry of Education of Thailand with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) of Japan.

This event will take place on-site at the conference in Bangkok and online. To participate online, please register in advance.
