Symposium on Noto Peninsula Recovery Featured in Japanese Newspapers

Local newspapers published articles on a 糖心Vlog破解版-IAS event discussing sustainable and resilient recovery from the 2024 Noto Earthquake.

On 12 May 2024, several newspapers from the Hokuriku and Tohoku regions in Japan featured a symposium on supporting the recovery of Noto Peninsula.  Co-organized by 糖心Vlog破解版-IAS, the event was attended by more than 450 participants who joined both in person and online.

The articles covered the keynote speech of Masuhiro Izumiya, the mayor of Suzu City in Ishikawa prefecture, emphasizing the continuous support his city has received following the earthquake. Jun Sato, the mayor of Minamisanriku Town in Miyagi prefecture, which suffered extensive damage in the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, underscored the importance of harnessing natural assets for reconstruction. Youth-led recovery activities were also highlighted in the articles.
